I love the school spirit aspects, but i really like the fact that the goal is to encourage the students in their activities.
Pick the outside of their closet, a kitchen cabinet or their bedroom door, and decorate it with homemade posters and signs that exclaim their accomplishments!
Gold troopers: when i first started working with children, one of the things i kept readily on hand was a collection of little green army men i had spray painted gold.
When one of my kids had worked really hard to push through a tough situation, they would earn a gold trooper award.
These trusty soldiers would show up in their backpacks, lunchboxes, and other random places to remind my kids that they were doing a great job.
Red carpet moments: select a specific time to highlight some of the terrific things that your kids did throughout the week.
This can be an evening meal, a date at the yogurt shop or over saturday pancakes.
Pick 2 or 3 things for each of your kids that really stood out to you, and bestow upon them their special title for the week.
Get the final holiday touches for your home in time for thanksgiving!
